Description:
This candy, also referred to as Christmas Crack is so fun and easy make. It is light, crispy, sweet, and salty. Although it is a favorite at Christmas, it can be made at any time of the year. With only 6 ingredients and less than 15 minute prep time, why not give it a try. It is sure to be a hit!
Ingredients:
2 Sticks of Butter
1 Cup of Brown Sugar
2 tsp. Vanilla
1 pkg saltine crackers
1 12oz pkg. chocolate chips
1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
Directions:
- Cover cookie sheet with foil and butter the foil. Layer saltine crackers (1 full pkg.) to fill the pan.
- Melt 2 sticks of butter. Add 1 cup of brown sugar then stir a little. Leave on medium temperature until it begins to boil. Boil for 3 minutes. Add 1 tsp of vanilla and stir into syrup. Pour over the crackers to moisten all of them.
- Bake 5 minutes in oven at 350 degrees.
- Remove from oven and sprinkle 12 oz. chocolate chips of your choice. They will melt so spread over the top rather quickly.
- Top with chopped walnuts or pecans. Press into chocolate with the butter paper wrap.
- Chill at least 30 minutes. Then either cut or break into pieces. ENJOY!
