Local businesses envision a downtown “bridal district”

In June, a group of dedicated Hamilton businesses gathered in a spirit of collaboration to create an ambitious concept: they wanted to see if a wedding could have all of its vendors from Hamilton, and brought them all together to showcase what an “All-Hamilton Wedding” would look like.

“We were so excited to take part in a styled photoshoot to spotlight all of the wonderful Hamilton wedding vendors,” says Brittaney Cavin of PartyDreams Hamilton. “We can create our own ‘bridal district’ right here in our home town!”

The styled shoot showcased the local products and services that make Hamilton a great place to hold a wedding and to work with local people.

“We are all very proud of our city and are just encouraged that we are at a level now to be able to hold and host a wedding for a family that can feature all of these businesses in some form or fashion as part of the couple’s dream day,” says Yvonne VanBibber, Director of Events at the Benison Event Center and Coworking.

While many of the vendors can provide products and services outside Hamilton, when Hamilton couples are looking for vendors, there’s a real advantage to working with a local team. Not only do they keep economic growth here in the city, they get access to a variety of professionals who know each other and can help the couples through their journey.

“Since I’m local, I always meet with the bride and groom to go over the timeline, and we often go to lunch or coffee at a local business,” says Chelsea Gibson, owner of Sweet Stills Photo & Film. “This shoot we’ve done gives additional trust that we all know each other as vendors and we handpicked who we work with.”
