Back in 2012, when Ellebrux was established, the primary focus of owner and creator Laura Valls was painting. Since then, she has expanded her skills to include crafted jewelry and other gifts as well. Each of the geometrically shaped pieces is hand painted by colors Laura has mixed herself. When it comes to cupcakes, Angie Carter knows what she’s doing. Angie has been baking for over 15 years, and even worked as a cook for Fairfield City Schools to gain insider knowledge on food safety and the inner workings of industrial kitchens. Officially established in 2016, Baking Diva Cupcakes has tons of tasty flavors, including peanut butter cup, strawberry margarita, and even caramel apple. A Hamilton based artist has made a splash in the world of abstract art. Brandy Singleton, paints primarily in impressionistic and abstract styles. She works with acrylic paints, pouring paints, oil pastels, and more. In addition, she also creates unique wire and beaded jewelry that can be found locally at the Strauss Gallery. Everything is better when it’s homemade, especially popcorn. Since 2012, husband and wife duo Reuben and Kathy Schwartz have been making specialty flavors of popcorn. They have sweet & salty flavors like salted caramel (with a vegan option), Cincy chili, and French toast. They also have cheesy flavors like cheddar, garlic parmesan, and Chicago style. Each coating is made in small batches, and each batch is coated by hand. It doesn’t get any more homemade than that! Orders can be placed online.

Upcycling is a fast growing trend these days, and Erick Combs is way ahead of the curve. Erick is the owner of Erick’s Wood-n-Barrel, a small business that specializes in reutilizing wine and bourbon barrels by creating new  handmade furniture, bar accessories, and home décor items. Erick is a longtime wood craftsman based in Hamilton.

Nestled on 7th Street, Front Room on 7th has been operating since 2014. Co-owners Sherri Martin and Dale Braun are Hamilton natives and pride themselves on supporting local artists. They also partner with retailers like Wise Owl Paint and Iron Orchid Design to bring unique products to the area for local DIY-ers. This gift shop sells candles, soaps, upcycled antiques, and even some skincare products.

As a family-run operation, this gourmet cookie bakery is a hit in the Hamilton area. Owned and operated by husband and wife Tom and Lynn Toensmeyer, the bakery offers a wide selection of classic cookie flavors, such as iced oatmeal raisin and chocolate chip. The business is named for their daughter, Katie, who also likes to pitch in when she’s not teaching. The ingredients for each cookie are listed on the website, where orders can be placed.

Continuing a long-standing family tradition of soap-making, Crystal Guffey and Steve Mullins debuted Lemonwood Soap Co. As a young child, Crystal learned how to make soap from her grandparents. The business has thrived with her knowledge in soap-making and Steve’s background in marketing. Lemonwood Soap Co offers both body and bath products, each handmade with ingredients found locally whenever possible.
